For the Alone Time project, my group and I created three different solutions to more fully enjoy our Alone Time. From the left, the first app allows us to connect with friends over mutually enjoyed shows and share our opinion. The second app focuses on podcasts as they continue to be one of the main ways students discover knowledge. Incorporating podcasts related to subjects were already taking can further expand our curiosity on a subject. Lastly, the app on the right recommends additional podcasts related to your podcast fingerprint.
Garden of Artistic Delights
Here I made a sun, a pencil, a balloon, and a hidden mystery. By clicking on each of the different objects, different actions occur. Clicking on the sun will make it eclipse. Clicking on the pencil will write a small message in the sky, clicking on the balloon will make it float away. When the hidden mystery is clicked, it topples off screen to reveal the circus tent behind it.
Exploding Heart animation
This is an RGB lightbulb I made that responds when either the buttons are clicked, or when the lever is pulled. Using flow charts in Adobe XD this was made possible.
Fail Whale 404 error
My group member and I designed this from the inspiration of the Twitter Fail Whale. Our subject conveyed here is trustworthiness. In class we chose a symbol, and the symbol of the circle in this case symbolized trust. Thats why we used a dog here, saying “the website is gone, but will be back soon”
Space Jam
While observing a work out facility here at CU Boulder, my classmate noticed how crammed the building felt. To address this, we were originally going to add additional floors however we were told this wasn’t allowed. To get around this, we made one single corkscrew of a building that would allow us to add more space without adding additional floors.
Magazine Cover
This is one of the first group projects our class did. We did a slight color variation on the traditional Halloween to make this cover stand out
Movie Blockbuster
Here I made a movie poster for a fictitious film called “Fire and Fury”. One of the goals of this assignment was to only fill the poster 10 or 20%.
Symbolism
Based on what one of my peers told me, she has dips in her mood when she thinks about the specifics of her future. The solution I designed is symbolic. Shoot up! Its easy to get lost in the sauce of life. Choose the best moral path whenever presented with a fork in the road. Seeing this image will remind her to shoot up no matter what happens in her life otherwise.
